Long time parishioner Mr. Paul O’Brien went to his eternal reward this past Saturday, September 14th. There will be a wake for him at Cutler-O’Niell-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home at 545 Willow Ave, Council Bluffs, IA 51503 on Thursday, September 19th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a rosary at 7:30 pm.
The Funeral will be on Friday, September 20th at 10 AM here at ICC followed by burial at St. Mary Magdalene Cemetery (48th & Q Street) and a luncheon at ICC (Party room & Bowlatorium). As many family members are not Catholic the family requested a dispensation from Friday Abstinence for the luncheon. I gave it. As it is an ember day as well, I would encourage those who wish to partake to do a penance for the Church and for the soul of Mr. O’Brien and his family. May God bless you. – Fr. Mahowald FSSP
