Immaculate Conception Church is blessed with four choirs. The primary purpose of the ICC choirs is to serve the Traditional Catholic liturgy according to the 1962 missal. The repertory of the choirs consists of music from all ages of church history, with an emphasis on Gregorian chant, sacred polyphony and traditional hymnody.
The Adult choir, Men’s Schola and the Requiem choir are under the direction of Mr. Wayne Estrado. Membership in these choirs is open to parishioners 15 and over who are interested in the music of the Traditional Catholic liturgy, are capable of the time commitment, and pass a brief audition with the music director.
The Adult Choir sings for High Mass on all Sundays and Holy Days, on First Friday High Masses, for other special Masses, for the Triduum and for ICC weddings. This choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m.
The Schola is composed of men who chant the official Gregorian Propers from the Liber Usualis. Their rehearsal follows that of the Adult choir on Monday evenings.
The Children’s Choir is under the direction of Liz Coffey. This choir is open to parishioners ages 6 through high school that have a desire to learn to sing and are capable of the time commitment. The Children’s Choir sings at High Mass on Sundays and Holy Days about 10 times throughout the year. This choir rehearses after the 10 a.m. High Mass on most Sundays of the academic year. Emphasis is on bel canto singing of Gregorian chant and 2 part motets and hymns.
