Midweek Announcements

  • There is a typo in the upcoming bulletin for Sunday, September 24. The liturgical calendar and mass intentions are still listed for the week prior. Please find a link here to the actual calendar and intentions at ICC for the week.
  • The Enrollment Ceremony for the Angelic Warfare Confraternity will take place prior to (and not following as has been previously stated) the 6:00 pm Sung Mass on September 29. It will start at 5:30 pm. All those who wish to be enrolled that day should be present at 5:15 pm to go over the short ceremony. If this change affects you availability, please contact Fr. Berg and he will set up another time with you to be enrolled in the Archconfraternity.
  • Much has been published about the upcoming Synod in Rome. Some of it has understandably stirred up concern on the part of the faithful. Rather than allow this to cause a lack of peace of soul or even shake our confidence in God and His Church, we as a parish should make it a particular intention of our prayer. At ICC we will therefore pray a novena from the Feast of St. Francis, October 4 (patron of the FSSP house in Omaha) until October 13, the final apparition of Our Lady of Fatima. We will pray the Pardon Prayer and the Angel’s Prayer from Fatima daily for those nine days. Copies of these prayers will be available in church this Sunday.
In the face of some who seem to wish to change what the Church has always taught, we should also recall the indefectibility of Church:
“We may well admire in this the admirable wisdom of the Providence of God, who, ever bringing good out of evil, has from time to time suffered the faith and piety of men to grow weak, and allowed Catholic truth to be attacked by false doctrines, but always with the result that truth has afterwards shone out with greater splendor, and that men’s faith, aroused from its lethargy, has shown itself more vigorous than before.” – Pope Pius XI
